St. Cloud State University seeks applications for an Academically Qualified (AQ) Assistant/Associate Professor of Marketing (tenure-track) appointment in the Marketing Department of the Herberger Business School, beginning Fall semester 2021. The Marketing department offers a Professional Selling Specialization and also houses the General Business major. In addition to eight undergraduate majors, the School offers an MBA and a Master of Science in Information Assurance. The School has been continuously accredited for more than 40 years by AACSB International. More department information is available at Marketing.

The successful candidate is expected to establish and maintain a professional goal to become an outstanding teacher-scholar through the use of research-based, best-practices pedagogy. They are expected to teach using both in-person and alternative delivery methods such as online and hybrid. They will regularly engage in ongoing professional development and innovation opportunities focused on pedagogical growth.

The Marketing Department at St. Cloud State University has a full-time probationary position.

Teach undergraduate and/or graduate level sales and marketing courses as needed and contribute to achievement of department goals which include:

  • Providing an effective learning environment for student success
  • Maintaining AACSB-International accreditation
  • Research and other scholarly activity and maintaining academically qualified status as defined by accreditation standards
  • Curriculum and program development and enhancement
  • Serving our students, the department, the business school, the university, and various publics.

In order to be considered for tenure, the successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to: teach and/or perform assignment effectively in other current assignments, produce a record of scholarly or creative achievement or research, continue preparation and study, contribute to student growth and development and provide service to the University and community.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Marketing from an AACSB-International accredited institution (ABDs with planned completion within a year are also considered)
  • Evidence of ability to teach marketing courses effectively
  • Strong interest in teaching and conducting research in the area of professional selling
  • Evidence of ability and commitment to conduct research and other scholarly achievements in marketing consistent with AACSB-International accreditation
  • Ability to contribute to departmental goals,
  • Ability to teach and work effectively with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds
  • Willingness to provide service to the university community
  • Willingness to contribute to student growth and development
