Position Status: One-Year Appointment

Position Summary

The Marketing Department is looking to hire either a full-time, non-tenure-track Assistant Professor or a full-time, one-year, non-tenure-track Instructor to begin in January 2021. This faculty member will teach professional sales and marketing courses and support the Center for Sales Excellence in the School of Business. Rank will be dependent on the selected candidate’s credentials, qualifications and other relevant experience.

Essential Duties

Assistant Professor position (full-time, non-tenure-track):

Teach 12 credits hours per semester (fall and spring), advise and mentor students, and complete professional service to the School and University. Teaching responsibilities may include undergraduate and graduate classes.

Instructor position (full-time, one-year appointment, non-tenure-track):

Teach 12 credits hours per semester (fall and spring), advise and mentor students, and complete professional service to the School and University. Teaching responsibilities may include undergraduate and graduate classes.

Secondary Responsibilities

Support the Center for Sales Excellence.

Required Qualifications

Assistant Professor position (full-time, non-tenure-track):

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Marketing or ABD in Sales or Marketing (degree expected by August 2022).

Instructor position (full-time, one-year appointment, non-tenure-track):

Candidates must hold at least an M.B.A. from an AACSB-accredited master’s program or a Ph.D. in Marketing or ABD in Sales or Marketing. Candidates with an MBA must have a minimum of 10 years work experience in marketing, with at least 5 years in sales.

Preferred Qualifications

A commitment to teaching excellence and proven ability to teach sales and marketing courses at undergraduate and/or graduate levels.

The ability to teach in-person, online, and in hybrid format is a plus.

To be considered for a tenure-track line, the candidate must at minimum be ABD and have evidence of scholarly activities consistent with AACSB accreditation.
