The Michael F. Price College of Business at the University of Oklahoma is pleased to announce that applications are being accepted for an Endowed Chair position in Healthcare Business at the rank of tenured associate or tenured full professor. The position will begin Fall 2025. Ideal candidates will have an exceptional research record and extensive teaching experience in topics related to healthcare business in any of the following or related fields: Management, Management Information Systems, Marketing, or Supply Chain Management.
The ability to lead a program of research in healthcare business and provide thought leadership to colleagues, businesses and the community in areas related to healthcare business is an important requirement for this position. A record of published research in top-ranked journals, experience in directing doctoral research and experience in teaching healthcare business courses are also essential.
The healthcare sector represents an important strategic initiative for Price College, OU’s Health Sciences Center, and OU’s Institute for the Future of Health. Price College introduced healthcare business courses for undergraduates in 2018 and currently offers a major and a minor in the Business of Healthcare. At the graduate level, we offer a certificate in Healthcare Administration for MBA students in partnership with OU’s Hudson College of Public Health, and we have plans to launch an Executive MBA in Healthcare Business. The Center for the Business of Healthcare has been created to focus on educational programs, provide student support and professional development, lead in scholarly thought leadership, and support community outreach.
This position offers a competitive salary along with comprehensive research and travel support. Teaching responsibilities may include undergraduate or graduate courses, which have various formats, including online or in-person. Undergraduate in-person classes are taught at the main campus in Norman while many of the in-person masters classes are taught at our 27,000 square-foot flagship facility, the Gene Rainbolt Graduate School of Business, in the heart of Oklahoma City at OU’s Health Sciences Center campus.

The University of Oklahoma is a comprehensive research university offering a wide range of undergraduate, masters, and Ph.D. programs plus an extensive continuing education and public service program. The Price College of Business is AACSB accredited at all levels with approximately 6,500 students in bachelors, masters, and Ph.D. programs across six academic divisions in Accounting, Entrepreneurship and Economic Development, Finance, Management and International Business, Management Information Systems, and Marketing and Supply Chain Management. Currently, the college has 125 full-time faculty members.
The city of Norman is a vibrant community of approximately 120,000 residents and is often ranked among the lowest in the nation in terms of cost of living. In addition to numerous boutiques, shopping, and restaurants located directly north of campus, Norman is nicknamed the “City of Festivals” due to its numerous art, music, medieval, and other festivals held annually. Norman is also less than three hours away from the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, one of the fastest growing regions of the United States. In sum, the city of Norman offers all of the benefits of living in a college town, while affording easy access to the amenities of larger cities.
The OU Campus is home to the Fred Jones Museum of Art, featuring a collection of impressionistic art valued at over $100 million, including works of Degas, Monet, Cassatt, Van Gogh, Pissarro, Renoir, and others. The campus also houses the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History, which won the National Medal for Museum and Library Science in 2014. In 2015, CBS Sports named the University of Oklahoma as having the best collegiate athletics program in the country, and in 2024, OU will join the Southeastern Conference (SEC).
Located less than twenty miles from Norman, Oklahoma City is home to an international airport, numerous restaurants, retailers, NBA Basketball (Oklahoma City Thunder), AAA Baseball, USL Soccer, a world-class symphony, ballet, a traveling Broadway Series, and the Oklahoma City Museum of Art which boasts one of the world’s most comprehensive collections from famed glass artist Dale Chihuly. Oklahoma City’s Boathouse District is a training site for Olympians plus offers numerous recreational boating and cycling opportunities along the Oklahoma River.
Qualifications
Required Criteria:
• Earned doctorate in business-related field.
• Exceptional research record, teaching experience, and other/service qualifications commensurate with tenure at the Associate or Full Professor level.
Preferred Criteria:
• Interest and expertise in healthcare business.
