Essential functions (job duties):
The Department of Marketing at Wayne State University’s Mike Ilitch School of Business is seeking to fill a tenured/tenure-track faculty position for 2024-25 academic year.
Teach 2 (per semester) undergraduate/graduate courses in Marketing.
Manage assessment and Student progress with a Learning Management System (Canvas).
Maintain and adapt curriculum that is current, effective, and appropriate to course and program competencies. Instruct students in a classroom, online, and/or hybrid setting.
Provide adequate service to the college, university, and academic discipline.
Publish in top-tier journals in Marketing.
Participate in the Marketing doctoral program.
Qualifications:
PhD in Marketing or a related field (completed before August, 2025) is preferred.
Applicants with A.B.D. will be hired as Instructor until the completion of all doctoral degree requirements.
Some previous teaching experience is desirable.
Candidate is expected to conduct high-quality research and publish in top-tier Marketing journals.
Commitment to excellence in the classroom and should be open to teaching the latest concepts and tools used in the field such as data analytics and artificial intelligence.
The successful candidate is expected to engage in significant service activities and collaborate effectively with diverse groups of colleagues and students.
This search is part of a cluster of hires across departments focusing on hiring faculty that will make the business school more technologically oriented and improve the marketability of our students.
