Job Description Summary

Eastern Oregon University, College of Business in La Grande, Oregon is seeking to hire an assistant or associate professor for a tenure-track appointment in Business with a Marketing focus. All business faculty who teach business courses offered by the academic business unit must be appropriately-qualified to teach within a discipline.

The College of Business is IACBE accredited. Our newly developed Bachelor’s degree in Marketing (currently a concentration) offers foundational and specialized contemporary marketing topics in a particular discipline and at more than one program level. The individual will be open to interdisciplinary collaboration with EOU’s public relations, digital media and communications departments.

Appointment to begin on September 16, 2021Responsibilities

  • Primary teaching in undergraduate and graduate level marketing courses and electives in areas of expertise.
  • Advising students.
  • College and institutional service.
  • Public outreach.
  • Commitment to scholarship and service commensurate with lACBE accreditation principles and EOU tenure requirements.
  • Provide leadership in program and curriculum development.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate in business or business with a major, concentration, specialization, focus area, emphasis, option, track, field, or stream, etc. in marketing area of assigned teaching responsibilities; or hold ABD degree status in business or business with marketing concentration or emphasis program and provide evidence of degree completion by start date.
  • One year online teaching experience in marketing.
  • One year work experience in marketing or marketing management
  • Must satisfactorily complete EOU criminal and credential background check. Having a criminal history is not an automatic bar to employment.
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Eastern Oregon University will not sponsor applicants for employment visas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years of work experience in marketing as a marketing manager, director, or divisional VP.
  • Two or more years online and in person teaching experience in undergraduate and graduate level marketing.
  • Training and/or experience with digital and social media marketing.
  • Demonstrate department/program leadership roles.
