About the Welch College of Business and Technology

SHU’s Jack Welch College of Business & Technology (WCBT) is AACSB-accredited and enrolls some 2,000 students. It is housed on Sacred Heart University’s west campus, approximately one kilometer from main campus. Opened in Fall 2019, in the former world headquarters of General Electric, the west campus is focused on digital innovation and how it is transforming business in the 21st century.  The campus includes state-of-the art labs, equipment, and studios to support research on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analytics, financial computation, machine learning, augmented reality/virtual reality, and e-game design.

The Jack Welch College of Business and Technology (WCBT) offers undergraduate degrees in Accounting, Management, Economics, Finance, Hospitality Management, Marketing, Sports Management and Fashion Marketing & Merchandising. The School of Computer Science and Engineering (which is part of the WCBT) offers undergraduate degrees in Computer Science/Information Technology, Game Design and Development, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering. The WCBT offers eight Master’s programs: MS in Computer Science, MS Information Technology, MS Cybersecurity, MS Business Analytics, Masters in Business Administration, MS in Accounting, MS Finance and Investment Management, MS Human Resource Management, MS Digital Marketing, and the Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA-Finance).

Job Description:

The Jack Welch College of Business & Technology (WCBT) invites applications for an experienced, tenure-track associate professor faculty position in the Department of Marketing.  Candidates at the associate professor level are strongly preferred, but senior assistant candidates may also be considered. 

Candidates should have experience and interest in teaching one or more of the following at the undergraduate and graduate level: consumer behavior, marketing strategy, marketing research, digital marketing and/or international marketing, although actual teaching assignments are based on the needs of the department. The position will entail a 3/3 teaching load with courses offered both day and evening, with the possibility of online and/or blended courses.


Requirements:

This position requires a doctorate in marketing or closely-related field from an AACSB-accredited university and experience commensurate with requirements for the rank of associate or full professor. The ideal candidate will have an excellent teaching record, relevant business experience and a body of scholarly work published in quality, refereed journals. Candidates with a proven track record in developing and mentoring junior faculty, and experience developing new programs and/or serving in academic leadership roles are preferred.
