Position Description

The Michael G. Foster School of Business at the University of Washington, Seattle, invites applications for a faculty position in the department of Marketing and International Business.  This appointment will be for a full-time, tenure-track position (100% FTE) at the rank of Assistant Professor. The service period for this position is 9 months. The anticipated start date for this position is September 16, 2021. University of Washington faculty members engage in research, teaching, and service. Duties include conducting high-quality scholarly research in marketing or a related field, and effectively teaching courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.

The Foster School of Business is driven by our purpose of fostering leaders, insights, and progress to better humanity.  The Department of Marketing and International Business department works together with other Foster School departments, UW Schools and colleges and community partners (e.g., Starbucks, Costco, Amazon, and Microsoft) to support top top-ranked programs at the undergraduate, MBA, Ph.D., and executive levels. Qualifications

Candidates must hold, or be nearing completion of, a PhD (or foreign equivalent degree) in Business Administration, Marketing, Psychology, Marketing Analytics, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field. The required terminal degree must be conferred by the position start date for initial appointment. For an Assistant Professor, a qualified candidate may be considered for temporary appointment as an Acting Assistant Professor, pending PhD with conversion to appointment as an Assistant Professor after degree conferral if the terminal degree has not been conferred by the position start date. We seek candidates whose research, teaching, and/or service have prepared them to fulfill our commitment to inclusion, and have given them the confidence to fully engage audiences in higher education from a wide spectrum of backgrounds including marginalized communities.
