Detailed Job Description

The Saunders College of Business invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate level in Marketing. Responsibilities include publishing high quality scholarly research in Marketing and teaching undergraduate and graduate Marketing courses. The position has a particular emphasis on technology and digital marketing topics, including such facets as business/marketing analytics, search engine optimization, and social media marketing. Contribution to the intellectual and academic life of the department and university service will be expected as appropriate. The Saunders College values collegial individuals who are excellent communicators, innovative teachers, and active researchers. The college works closely with the business community, which provides research and professional opportunities. The typical teaching schedule is four semester courses per year.

THE COLLEGE/ DEPARTMENT:

The Saunders College of Business is served by 68 full-time faculty members who value collegiality and team work. The Saunders College is accredited by AACSB International and offers bachelors’ degrees in business administration with seven different majors. Graduate programs include an MBA, an Executive MBA, and Masters of Science programs in multiple disciplines. Saunders is ranked in the top 100 by US News and World Report. A successful candidate will join the Department of MIS, Marketing, and Digital Business, which houses the Management Information Systems (MIS) and Marketing programs at the undergraduate level and the MS in Business Analytics (MS-BA) program at the graduate level. The Program for Innovation and Entrepreneurship was ranked as one of the most innovative programs in the world by BusinessWeek. The Albert J. Simone Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship enhances entrepreneurship activities, including the RIT Venture Creations

Required Minimum Qualifications

Assistant Professor Rank

Qualified candidates should hold a PhD. in Marketing, or a related field, from an AACSB- accredited, or equivalent, institution. For rank of Assistant Professor, candidates may be ABD with expected completion by August 2021. Candidates with experience in marketing technology or digital marketing topics are preferred. Knowledge of business analytics and metrics is a plus. Candidates must have strong research skills and potential for scholarly research as demonstrated by publications in peer reviewed journals and/or academic conference proceedings. Candidates should also have a demonstrated ability to teach effectively. All candidates should have a willingness to interact with the business community and an ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the college’s continuing commitment to cultural diversity, pluralism, and individual differences.

Associate Professor Rank

Qualified candidates should hold a PhD. in Marketing, or a related field, from an AACSB- accredited, or equivalent, institution. For rank of Associate Professor, candidates must have a proven record of scholarly research and evidence of teaching excellence and strong service experience. All candidates should have a willingness to interact with the business community. Candidates with experience in marketing technology or digital marketing topics are preferred. Knowledge of business analytics and metrics is a plus. Candidates require an ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the college’s continuing commitment to cultural diversity, pluralism, and individual differences.
