The teacher-scholar model creates a vibrant community that cherishes faculty and student relationships and faculty scholarly contributions. Faculty at Albion College carry a 2/3 teaching load in the first year. In the second year, they carry the regular 3/3 load. In the fourth year, following successful evaluation, faculty are afforded an additional release each semester from teaching for scholarship and carry a 2/2 teaching load in preparation for submitting their application for tenure in the fifth year.
A successful Assistant Professor of Marketing will be prepared to teach marketing principles, consumer behavior, marketing research, marketing strategy, and one or more electives in marketing, data analytics, or management. Preference will be given to a generalist able to teach a variety of undergraduate courses to a diverse student body. Advising and mentoring students is also an important responsibility. Applicants must provide evidence of effective teaching and potential for ongoing scholarship.
We seek candidates who are passionate about the liberal arts. The Albion faculty teacher-scholar model is ideal for active scholars who care deeply about the craft of teaching in small classes, collaborating with students, and building a successful scholarly career. Albion faculty members mentor undergraduate research experiences, secure funding to support their own scholarly efforts, and travel to professional conferences.
Applicants should submit a cover letter, current CV, teaching evaluations, a research paper, at least three letters of reference, and a copy of graduate transcript through Interfolio: https://apply.interfolio.com/76366.
