The Marketing Department in the College of Business, the University of Texas at Arlington, invites applications for a Clinical Professor of Marketing/Sales (Open Rank). This is a non-tenure track position starting Fall 2023.

Candidates hired at the rank of clinical assistant professor will primarily engage in instruction and have teaching experience and qualifications comparable to those of faculty members in tenure-track positions.

Candidates hired at the rank of clinical associate professor will primarily engage in instruction and have teaching experience and qualifications comparable to those of faculty members in tenured positions.

Candidates hired at the rank of clinical professor will primarily engage in instruction and have teaching experience and qualifications that demonstrate extraordinary service and performance.

In accordance with USCIS regulations, successful applicants must be legally able to accept work in the United States.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate or graduate courses in marketing, serve as the faculty advisor for the Maverick Sales Club and Regional Challenger Sales Competition, and actively engage in service to department. Candidates with interest, expertise, and the capability to teach courses related to professional selling and electronic marketing communications, such as digital marketing and/or social media marketing are specifically encouraged to apply. The typical course load is 4/4, though a reduced teaching load may be considered for candidates that demonstrate the willingness and potential to publish research in peer reviewed academic journals.

Department and College/School Information

Marketing Department / College of Business
The Marketing department at UT-Arlington is presently comprised of 19 full-time faculty members (including 10 tenured/tenure-track faculty and 9 non-tenure track faculty) and two full-time staff members. The department also offers courses in business communications (BCOM). In Spring 2023 the total enrollment across all undergraduate Marketing/BCOM courses was 3,263 students while the total enrollment across all graduate Marketing/BCOM courses was 220 students. The Marketing department at UT-Arlington presently offers an undergraduate BBA degree, an undergraduate sales certificate, a Master of Science in Marketing research (MSMR), and a doctoral concentration in Marketing. In Spring 2023, there were 348 declared undergraduate Marketing majors, 15 MSMR majors, and 12 doctoral students. The MSMR program is currently ranked as the #42 master’s program in Marketing by Eduniversal.
