Position Overview
The Department of Marketing and Sports Management in the Girard School of Business at Merrimack College is searching for an Assistant Professor of Marketing to join their team starting in Academic Year 2023-24. Areas of special interest in Marketing include digital marketing, data analytics, social media marketing, and content marketing. Candidates should have potential for excellence in teaching and research in the areas of specialty. The faculty member will teach introductory and upper-level courses in Marketing.

Position Summary
The Department of Marketing and Sports Management in the Girard School of Business at Merrimack College invites applications for one Tenure-Track faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Marketing beginning in Academic Year 2023-24. Qualified candidates should demonstrate experience in: conducting impactful marketing research; excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; and serving as faculty advisor to undergraduate and graduate students.

Primary Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will be able to teach introductory marketing, marketing research, and special topics/elective courses in marketing (e.g., social media, digital marketing, marketing analytics, etc.). Course load is 16 credits for the fall and spring or the equivalent.
  • The successful candidate must also have demonstrated potential to be an outstanding teacher, productive scholar, and active contributor to professional, departmental, school, college, and community service.


Qualifications
Interested applicants should hold a PhD/DBA from an accredited university or master’s degree and expertise in marketing. Relevant industry experience in marketing analytics and technologies, consumer behavior, product development, or other specialized marketing experience is preferred. Preferences will be given to candidates who have demonstrated passion teaching undergraduate/graduate students, and produced recent scholarly work in marketing and potential for publication in top-tier business journals. Strong verbal/written communication skills are essential. Additionally, the ability to foster an environment that values diversity, equity and inclusion is expected of all Merrimack community members.

About the Girard School of Business
The Girard School of Business takes a unique approach to business education including a strong foundation in the liberal arts and Augustinian values. Our faculty are committed to providing students with a strong foundation of business knowledge and skills in an environment having a high degree of student-faculty interaction. It has approximately 1,400 undergraduate and graduate students and offers a BSBA degree with ten concentrations, MS degrees in Management and Accounting, as well as an online MS degree in Business Analytics.
