West Chester University of Pennsylvania’s AACSB Accredited Department of Marketing invites applications for a full-time, Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Marketing. The position will begin in Fall 2023.

West Chester University, a member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, is a public, comprehensive institution committed to offering high-quality undergraduate education, selected post-baccalaureate and graduate programs, and a variety of educational and cultural resources for its students, alumni, and citizens of southeastern Pennsylvania. The University offers more than one hundred graduate and undergraduate programs in the sciences and mathematics, business and public management, arts and humanities, health sciences, education and social work, music, and interdisciplinary studies. We are a community of educators dedicated to developing graduates who succeed personally and professionally and contribute to the common good.

The College of Business and Public Management is an AACSB accredited school. The Department of Marketing within the College of Business and Public Management is the second largest and fastest growing major at WCU with over 1,200 students of the 17,000+ undergraduates and graduates on the University’s main campus. Annual semester teaching load is 3-3 in year one, and 3-4 thereafter for AACSB SA qualified faculty. Marketing faculty generally teach two different course preparations per academic year. Winter and Summer teaching compensation is incremental to the base teaching load, as is internship supervision. AACSB SA qualified faculty may also apply for a summer research stipend equivalent to teaching one summer course compensation.

The faculty position involves teaching undergraduate and/or MBA marketing courses offered in-person and online in both synchronous and asynchronous formats. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to the learning and teaching needs of the department’s students. The faculty will collaborate with other departmental and college faculty & staff to ensure student success.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDES:

  • Participate in the assessment of student learning and program performance
  • Provide teaching and instructional learning
  • Actively contribute to the college’s maintenance of AACSB accreditation process
  • Engage in scholarly activities such as research, presentations, and publications
  • Serve the University and the community through participation in various committees
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Marketing from an AACSB accredited program (An earned doctorate ABD with completion by June 15, 2023 will be considered)
  • Experience successfully teaching college level marketing courses
  • At least 2 years of professional (non-academic) work experience

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Professional (non-academic) work experience in digital marketing
  • Experience teaching and performing research in the digital marketing sphere

  • AACSB level research agenda:
    • Include your area(s) of research interest, plus a summary of your completed publications, and research in progress. Submit as separate file uploads copies of any published research and communication showing articles under journal review.
    • For articles in review, include any letters from the editor and/or other evidence of article submission. Specify those under second or subsequent review.
