The John and Doris Norton School of Human Ecology invites applications for a tenure/tenure eligible position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Retailing and Consumer Science (RCSC) program beginning in August, 2023. The position will involve 60% research, 30% teaching (approximately 2 classes per academic year) and 10% service.
The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) is establishing an interdisciplinary initiative in decision analytics and human behavior in the areas of agriculture and resource economics, retailing, the environment, natural resources, and human health and well-being. A successful candidate will develop collaborative research in applying data informed insights from cognitive psychology and behavioral economics to the understanding of human behavior in relation to decision making that impacts consumer choices and policy. Research focal areas include, but are not limited to: consumer spending; financial decision making; household financial stability and stressors; impact of borrowing, spending, and savings decisions; consumer behavior and preferences.
Retailing and Consumer Science has approximately 250 undergraduate majors. The academic program also is affiliated with the Terry J. Lundgren Center for Retailing (https://terryjlundgrencenter.org/). RCSC is one of four academic units within the John and Doris Norton School of Human Ecology.
