AAMU offers its 6,100-student population a wide range of course offerings under the College of Agriculture, Life and Natural Sciences; College of Business and Public Affairs; College of Education, Humanities and Behavioral Sciences and College of Engineering, Technology and Physical Science. The School of Graduate Studies serves about 1,400 and offers doctoral degree programs in Applied Physics, Food Science, Plant/Soil Science and Reading/Literacy.


JOB DESCRIPTION:

Summary:

The Department of Management, Marketing & Logistics in the College of Business and Public Affairs at Alabama A&M University invites applications for the assistant/associate professor position in marketing. The College of Business and Public Affairs is accredited by AACSB International.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Excellence in Teaching – Teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Intellectual Contributions – Produce scholarly research leading to publications in refereed quality journals in college journal and engage in professional activities
  • Effective Advising – Advise learners toward degree completion, and serve as faculty advisor for the major club/organization
  • Community Impact – Serve on committees in the department, college, and university, and participate in local community/regional activities in the field
  • College Goals – Assist in the development and implementation of instructional and institutional goals
  • Other – Perform other duties as assigned


REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Position Requirements (including years of experience, certifications, licenses, etc.):

  • Candidates must have or be nearing completion of a Ph.D from an AACSB-accredited program in Marketing, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, or other related fields. A qualified candidate may be considered for temporary appointment as an Acting Assistant Professor, pending Ph.D, with conversion to appointment Assistant Professor after degree conferral if the terminal degree has not been conferred by the position start date. 
  • College or university teaching experience preferred.
  • Experience with content/digital marketing and marketing analytics/research.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical language in layman’s terms and to interact with diverse audiences.
  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.

SALARY:

The salary for each position is based on the grade/tier in which the position is placed, and the salary within the grade/tier is based on the number of years of related experience or number of years in the hiring rank.
