THE COLLEGE OF BUSINESS AT MCNEESE STATE UNIVERSITY invites qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of Marketing.

COLLEGE OF BUSINESS: The College of Business programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB). The College currently offers undergraduate degrees in Accounting, General Business Administration, Finance, Management, Marketing, a graduate MBA, and a new Certificate in LNG Business. McNeese State University serves as the academic and cultural center for Southwest Louisiana. Located in one of the fastest growing areas in the state, McNeese provides well-qualified employees to the local petrochemical, agricultural and hospitality industries, as well as hospitals and public and private schools throughout SWLA and beyond. Our region has seen a decade of unprecedented growth in the petrochemical industry. Our latest growth is in LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas), as approximately 50% of the nation’s LNG passes through our region. Lake Charles is conveniently located with 2 hours of driving west to Houston, TX and three hours to east New Orleans, LA.

POSITION INFORMATION: This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position expected to start in August 2023. The College of Business offers undergraduate degrees in Accounting, General Business Administration, Finance, Management, and Marketing, an MBA, and a new Certificate in Liquefied Natural Gas Business.

POSITION DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: The candidate is responsible for outstanding teaching through classroom engagement and participation in a face-to-face environment. The candidate also needs to be proficient in online teaching. The candidate must contribute intellectually through publications in quality journals and collaborate with their fellow peers. For the service component, the candidate will serve on committees at both the college and university level, be actively involved in college recruitment, and advise students. The candidate must be scholarly academic per AACSB standards.

REQUIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: First preference will be given to candidates possessing a PhD/DBA in Marketing; followed by a preference to those candidates who have defended a dissertation proposal. Third preference is available to candidates who have teaching experiences or abilities of teaching courses in Sales Management, Social Media Marketing, and Marketing Research. Candidates’ degrees must have been conferred by an AACSB- accredited institution. The successful candidate should demonstrate excellence in teaching (both face-to-face and online), a commitment to intellectual contributions with publications in quality journals, and a desire to provide service to the College, the University, and the profession.
