A postdoctoral fellow position, supported by Ross-Lynn Research Scholar Funds, is available from Fall 2023 for research at the interface of healthcare marketing, machine learning, statistics, and economics at the Krannert School of Management, Purdue University. The postdoctoral fellow will work under the guidance of Qiang LiuDaisy DaiGuofang Huang, and Ting Zhu. The position will be for a period of 2 years from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2025. 

Specifically, the research will focus on using unique and rich data from healthcare industry to develop predictive or econometric models to offer insights and practical solutions to improving customer/patient healthcare quality, cost reduction, healthcare management efficiency, and healthcare policy. Possible research topics include machine learning and rare disease detection/physician targeting, the impact of digital technology on healthcare efficiency (telemedicine and e-detailing), healthcare equity (access to healthcare, coupon and copay program, and drug cost), direct-to-consumer advertising, and pricing in healthcare. The fellow may also have an opportunity to teach a course. 

Highly motivated candidates with PhD degrees in statistics, economics, computer science, marketing or related fields who are interested in healthcare marketing are encouraged to apply. The position should be a good opportunity for those who are interested in the transition into marketing.
