Position Summary

The Davis College of Business and Technology at Jacksonville University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Marketing beginning Fall 2023. 

Essential Job Duties

The individual hired for this position must be qualified to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Marketing. Teaching responsibilities may include core marketing courses such as buyer behavior, marketing research and analytics, and marketing strategy in addition to sales and/or digital marketing and social media (depending on candidate interests and experience). The teaching load is typically three courses per semester and may include face-to-face, hybrid and/or online deliveries in undergraduate, Master’s and/or Doctoral-level programs. In addition to teaching responsibilities, engagement in scholarly academic intellectual activities that result in high-quality peer reviewed publications is required. The individual will also be responsible for student advising and mentorship, contributing to assessment of student learning outcomes, and engaging in other service activities.

It is expected that the individual chosen for this position will possess a commitment to teaching excellence, demonstrated ability or capacity to produce quality scholarly academic research, and a commitment to involvement in service that advances the university or the profession. Preference will be given to candidates with excellent communication and collaboration skills, and a commitment to building a diverse and inclusive work and classroom environment. 

Work Conditions

  • Primarily indoors except when traveling between campus buildings
  • Some off-campus travel may be required

Physical Requirements

  • Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and scientific equipment
  • Near vision sufficient to read written communications and computer display screens
  • Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and by phone

Prerequisites Required for PositionMinimum Work Experience

  • Candidates should possess a Ph.D. or DBA from an AACSB-accredited program or a related degree.
  • A.B.D.’s with a clear plan for completion by December 2023 are encouraged to apply.
  • Individuals must be academically qualified at time of hire, and maintenance of academic qualifications is required.
