The McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia invites applications a full-time, open-rank academic general faculty member (non-tenure eligible) to teach quantitative methods (QA) courses and potentially an Introduction to Marketing course in its Undergraduate Programs beginning August 2023. This position will entail teaching 18 credit hours, 15 of which will be devoted to teaching quantitative methods over the course of the fall and spring semesters.

Job Requirements:

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. by the start date of the appointment and have at least 2 years of experience teaching quantitative methods (QA) and statistics, as well as the ability to teach a basic marketing principles course. The QA topics the applicant will be required to teach at a high level include the following:

  • Basic Probability and Hypothesis Testing
  • Testing Mean-level Differences: Independent and Paired-samples t-tests; One-way ANOVA; Factorial ANOVA
  • Crosstabs Contingency Tables (c2 – Crosstabs Analysis)
  • Correlation, Simple Regression, and Time Series Analysis
  • Multiple Regression & Model Building
  • Logistic Regression

In addition, applicants much have a strong working knowledge of EXCEL MegaStat, the graphic user interface (GUI) packages of SPSS or SAS, and a strong working knowledge of R and R Studio.
