Job Description

The W. A. Franke College of Business (FCB) at Northern Arizona University (NAU) in Flagstaff, Arizona invites tenure-track applications for an assistant professor of marketing to begin August 2023. The primary responsibilities for this position include teaching and research in digital marketing, marketing analytics and related topics.

Teaching responsibilities for this position will include coursework in one or more of the following areas: digital marketing and marketing analytics. Research responsibilities include maintaining an active research agenda in digital marketing, marketing analytics, and other related topics with a focus on publications in high-quality, refereed journals. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and MBA courses. Courses may be taught in-person, online, or in a hybrid format.

Minimum Qualifications

• Doctorate from an AACSB, EQUIS, or ABET accredited institution in marketing, marketing analytics, or related fields. ABDs will be considered but will be appointed at the rank of instructor until degree is completed. The doctorate must be completed within one year of the hire date.

Preferred Qualifications

• One to three years of full-time teaching experience

• Experience teaching upper-division courses in digital marketing, or marketing analytics, or related classes

• An established record of publishing research in digital marketing, marketing analytics, or related fields in high-quality, nationally recognized refereed journals.

• A research agenda with potential to publish research digital marketing, marketing analytics, or related fields in high-quality, nationally recognized, refereed academic journals.

• Successful and significant teaching experience in digital marketing and marketing analytics, as shown by course evaluations or other evidence.

• Prior industry work experience in digital marketing, marketing analytics, or related fields.

• Willingness to develop and teach courses in digital marketing, marketing analytics, or related fields.

• Evidence of excellence in working with historically underrepresented constituencies.

AACSB competitive and commensurate with peer institution levels for rank and position in keeping with candidate’s experience and credentials.

Benefits

This is a Faculty (FAC) position. NAU offers an excellent benefit package including generous health, dental and vision insurance; participation in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) or the Optional Retirement Program (ORP); sick leave accruals and 10 holidays per year; and tuition reduction for employees and qualified family members. Faculty are hired on a contract basis, renewable according to terms of the http://nau.edu/Provost/Resources-Policies/. Employees offered a position will be eligible for state health plans (including NAU’s BCBS Plan). Employees will have 31 days from date of hire to enroll in benefits, and their benefits will then be effective the first day of the pay period following their completed enrollment. If a new employee chooses the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) retirement option, participation in the ASRS Plan (and the long-term disability coverage that accompanies it) will begin on the first of the pay period following 183 days of employment. New employees who choose to participate in the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP; an alternative to the ASRS plan) will begin to participate on the first day of employment. The long-term disability plan that accompanies the ORP will begin on the first day of the pay period following 90 days of employment.
