The Department of Marketing Management at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM), seeks applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at the assistant professorship level.

The Department of Marketing Management is broad and interdisciplinary, with more than 30 faculty members, experts in consumer behaviour, consumer neuroscience, strategic marketing, marketing modelling and machine learning. Our faculty members publish regularly in top-tier journals in marketing such as Journal of Marketing ResearchMarketing Science, Journal of Consumer Research, and Journal of Marketing, and related fields including Management Science, Information Systems Research, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Nature Human Behaviour, and Journal of Neuroscience. The Department of Marketing Management is chaired by Prof. Gerrit van Bruggen (gbruggen@rsm.nl).

In this role, you will contribute to the research and teaching excellence of the Marketing Management department at RSM.

Your main tasks

Your tasks include:

  • teach marketing-related topics in the BSc, MSc and/or (executive) MBA programmes of RSM (courses to be discussed)
  • conduct academic research aimed at top-tier journals in marketing and related fields, independently and in collaboration with others
  • contribute to the further development of RSM and the department of marketing management in particular

Required qualifications

We are looking for new colleagues to contribute to our research excellence and meet our growing teaching needs. The ideal candidate will be an intellectually curious, ambitious, and collegial scholar who shares our passion for research and teaching.

Your required competences

Candidates who can demonstrate excellence in scholarly research and competence in teaching and hold or are nearing completion of a PhD in marketing or a related discipline (psychology, neuroscience, computer science, economics, statistics) are invited to apply.

The conditions of employment correspond with the collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU).

The remuneration for a full-time position is a minimum gross monthly salary of €3,974 and a maximum of €5,439 (scale 11), depending on your education and experience. 

Erasmus University Rotterdam’s attractive employment conditions also include a holiday allowance of 8 per cent, an end-of-year bonus of 8.3 per cent, a generous number of vacation days, a solid pension scheme (ABP) and contribution to commuting expenses.
