Statement of Job:

The University of Southern Maine’s School of Business invites applications for two full time, 9-month, tenure track, faculty positions in the area of Marketing at the Assistant Professor levels beginning Fall 2023. The first focuses on marketing strategy/consumer behavior and the second is in digital/social media marketing and the related topics. Individuals with interest in both core and emerging marketing areas are encouraged to apply and join our business faculty team. This is an on campus, in-person teaching position with opportunities to teach in online delivery modalities.

Responsibilities include undergraduate teaching of three classes per semester, maintaining an active program of research and other scholarly activity, advising of students, internship supervision, , and engaging in university and professional service. There are also opportunities to teach in the MBA program at the Maine Business School.

Our School of Business seeks candidates who can demonstrate the ability to work with School of Business colleagues and a vision to help grow USM’s marketing major over the next decade.

The targeted starting date for this position is Fall 2023 and will pay a base salary of $105,000 plus benefits. Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in marketing from an AACSB accredited institution by time of appointment.  ABDs with strong likelihood of Ph.D. completion may also be considered at Lecturer rank until completion within one year of appointment of their Ph.D. Hired ABD candidates must completed their Ph.D. within one year at which time the appointment will convert to a tenure-track position.
  • The successful candidate should have interest in one or more of the following marketing areas: Digital Marketing, Marketing Strategy, Consumer Behavior, Marketing Research, Global Marketing and Marketing Analytics.
  • All candidates must teach one section of BUS260: Marketing each semester. BUS260 is part of the business core and taken by all students in the School of Business.
