Position description

The University of California, Davis, Graduate School of Management (GSM) invites applications for a position in Marketing at the assistant (tenure track) or associate (tenured) professor level.

The GSM offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA), an online MBA, a highly ranked Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) program, and several undergraduate minors. The position requires strong research skills and ability to publish in top academic journals. Candidates can pursue a program of research in any area of Marketing, demonstrating competence and scholarship in making intellectual contributions. Teaching responsibilities will be in the area of Marketing and may span across the MBA and MSBA programs. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. or expect to have completed a Ph.D. by the start of employment. Recent or soon-to-be graduates should demonstrate strong potential for engaging in innovative and impactful research. Experienced candidates should have a record of impactful publications or in-process research consistent with their experience.

Interested individuals should complete an application in this online application website RECRUIT (recruit.ucdavis.edu). In your research and teaching statements, please describe your research and teaching interests and qualifications. You should also upload evidence of research (sample publications, working paper, or dissertation) and evidence of teaching (course materials, evaluations, course syllabi etc.). Include a CV/Resume, Diversity Statement, cover letter, contact information of three references, and an Authorization Release Form. Please do not send letters of reference. We will contact references after the initial review date for those who have been selected for the short list. Subsequent reviews may take place after the initial review date. Applications submitted after the start of the initial review will be considered in subsequent reviews if they are needed. This position will remain open until filled.

The University of California is committed to creating and maintaining a community dedicated to the advancement, application, and transmission of knowledge and creative endeavors through academic excellence, where all individuals who participate in University programs and activities can work and learn together in a safe and secure environment, free of violence, harassment, discrimination, exploitation, or intimidation. With this commitment, UC Davis conducts a reference check on all finalists for tenured positions. The reference check involves contacting the administration of the applicant’s previous institution(s) to ask whether there have been substantiated findings of misconduct that would violate the University’s Faculty Code of Conduct. To implement this process, UC Davis requires all applicants for any open search for assistant/associate/full professor to complete, sign, and upload the form entitled “Authorization to Release Information” into RECRUIT as part of their application. If an applicant does not include the signed authorization with the application materials, the application will be considered incomplete, and as with any incomplete application, will not receive further consideration. Although all applicants for faculty recruitment must complete the entire application, only finalists considered for positions with tenure or security of employment will be subject to reference checks.

The University of California, Davis, and the GSM are interested in candidates who are committed to the highest standards of scholarship and professional activities and development of a campus climate that supports equality and diversity.
