The College of Business at University of Montana is seeking to fill a tenure-track position in Marketing at the assistant or associate professor level, with a fall 2023 start date.  Applicants will be expected to teach at both undergraduate and master’s levels, maintain an active research agenda, and engage in professional and service activities.   

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Marketing or Business (with Marketing major/emphasis) from a school accredited by AACSB International prior to the starting date of employment.
  • Demonstrated potential to publish or recent peer-reviewed journal publications in fields of expertise and an active, ongoing research agenda.
  • Teaching experience or interest in marketing analytics and marketing research.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching quality demonstrated by recent teaching evaluations and/or awards. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to serving the needs of diverse students (e.g., Native Americans, first generation college students, non-traditional aged students, military veterans).
  • Relevant professional experience in corporate marketing, marketing services, or consulting
  • Demonstrated ability to engage the business community
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Appointment to the rank of associate professor requires research publications and years of teaching service at an AACSB accredited institution commensurate with the rank of associate professor. Salary is dependent on qualifications and is comparable with peer universities in the region. About the Marketing Programs and College of Business 

The UM Marketing programs consist of a bachelor’s degree and a Master of Science in Business Analytics. The marketing faculty take a collaborative and responsive approach to supporting the success of our students, including mentoring students via a student chapter of the American Marketing Association. We pride ourselves on our rigorous and relevant curriculum, which prepares students for digital, analytical marketing careers.
