The AACSB-accredited Jack Welch College of Business & Technology at Sacred Heart University is accepting applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor faculty position(s) in the Department of Marketing for the 2022-2023 academic year, beginning August 2022. The successful candidate will help continue the Department’s strategic focus on transformative technologies in marketing. This faculty member can teach undergraduate and graduate courses in areas such as Digital Marketing, Marketing Analytics, Marketing Research, International Marketing, Marketing Management, and possibly other topics as teaching assignments are based on the needs of the Department. The position will entail a 4/4 teaching load with courses potentially offered both day and evening, with the possibility of online and/or blended courses.

Requirements:

This position require a doctorate in marketing or a related field from an AACSB-accredited university. The ideal candidate will have an excellent teaching record, relevant business experience and a demonstrated capability to produce scholarly work publishable in refereed journals. In addition, candidates should have teaching and research focused on smart retailing, e-commerce, “Internet of things”, disruptive technology or other aspects of digital transformation in the marketing realm.

The successful candidate will participate in developmental activities to increase understanding and awareness of issues related to diversity, equity and inclusion; apply that understanding to guide their approach to all aspects of their job and the community as a whole and demonstrate that we are “Stronger Together” as described in the Office for Diversity & Inclusion‘s Mission and Vision statements.

About the Welch College of Business and Technology

SHU’s Jack Welch College of Business & Technology (WCBT) is AACSB-accredited and enrolls some 2,000 students. It is housed on Sacred Heart University’s West Campus, approximately one kilometer from main campus. Opened in Fall 2019, in the former world headquarters of General Electric, the west campus is focused on digital innovation and how it is transforming business in the 21st century. The campus includes state-of-the art labs, equipment, and studios to support research on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analytics, financial computation, machine learning, augmented reality/virtual reality, and e-game design.

The Jack Welch College of Business and Technology (WCBT) offers undergraduate degrees in Accounting, Management, Economics, Finance, Hospitality Management, Marketing, Sports Management and Fashion Marketing & Merchandising. The School of Computer Science and Engineering (which is part of the WCBT) offers undergraduate degrees in Computer Science/Information Technology, Game Design and Development, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering. The WCBT offers eight Master’s programs: MS in Computer Science, MS Information Technology, MS Cybersecurity, MS Business Analytics, Masters in Business Administration, MS in Accounting, MS Finance and Investment Management, MS Human Resource Management, MS Digital Marketing, and the Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA-Finance).

Nearly sixty full-time faculty and four staff members bring an impressive range of expertise to the WCBT with terminal degrees and advanced training from leading universities.
