The W. A. Franke College of Business (FCB) at Northern Arizona University (NAU) in Flagstaff, Arizona invites tenure-track applications for an assistant or associate professor of marketing to begin August 2022. The primary responsibilities for this position include teaching, research, and service that supports FCB’s Professional Sales Program. This inclusive program offers an undergraduate sales certificate to all majors and has been recognized as a “Top University Sales Program” by the Sales Education Foundation since 2017. Students in the program compete in several regional and national sales competitions each year and are supported by a thriving student-led sales club, corporate partnership program, and curriculum centered on practical skills and career readiness.

Teaching responsibilities for this position will include coursework in one or more of the following areas: professional selling, sales management, sales technology, digital and social medial marketing, and marketing analytics. Research responsibilities include maintaining an active sales and marketing research agenda with a focus on publications in high-quality, refereed journals. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to support the Sales Program through activities such as student coaching, mentoring, and advising.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Doctorate in marketing or closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution at the time of appointment. ABDs will be considered but will be appointed at the rank of instructor until degree is completed. The doctorate must be completed within one year of date of hire
  • One year of full-time teaching experience teaching upper-division courses in professional selling, sales management, sales technology, digital marketing or marketing analytics as shown by provision of student evaluations.
  • A research background sufficient for qualification as a Scholarly Academic per the AACSB and FCB Conditions of Faculty Service
  • Tthree to five years of relevant industry experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate or graduate level marketing coursework in one or more courses listed above
  • Demonstrated success in, and continuing commitment to, publishing in high quality refereed journals
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to work with other faculty to create and implement innovative curricula and learning approaches
  • Experience supporting students competing in sales competitions
  • Experience and willingness to teach online and/or blended format courses
  • Evidence of, or potential for, excellence in working with historically underrepresented constituencies.
