Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Business (Marketing) or closely related field (e.g., Ph.D. in Psychology). Evidence of ability to publish high quality research. Demonstrated or clear potential for excellent teaching in undergraduate and graduate marketing courses. SBU has a strong interdisciplinary vision and encourages collaboration not only across disciplines within the College of Business, but also across other colleges on campus. Candidates with a track record of and/or potential to publish not only in the most prestigious marketing/consumer research journals (Journal of Consumer Psychology, Journal of Consumer Research, and Journal of Marketing Research), but also in top-tier journals across business disciplines (e.g., management) and in the fields of psychology and health, are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Qualifications: Faculty in the area conduct research that advances our understanding of ways to enhance consumer well-being (broadly defined). Experience teaching social media and/or digital marketing courses is desirable.  Diversity and inclusion are primary values for Stony Brook Marketing Area faculty and are integral to achieving our strategic goals. Responsibilities & Requirements: The Assistant Professor will be responsible to successfully work on a college approved research program or other intellectual contributions that result in publications in top tier academic journals within Marketing, Business, Psychology, or other relevant high quality interdisciplinary journals as fits the research program of the Professor. These publications will serve to enhance the reputation of the College of Business at Stony Brook University. The selected candidate will be responsible for participation in college administrative and/or college committee assignments and to provide service to the Stony Brook University community. The successful incumbent will be responsible for teaching Social Media and/or Digital Marketing courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels and to contribute constructively to the ever-advancing quality of education.
