Job Description:
The Department of Business Administration at Augustana College, Rock Island, IL, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, rank open position in Marketing to begin August 2025. Along with introductory level marketing, the new faculty member has the opportunity to offer a variety of marketing courses that may include digital marketing, marketing analytics, and/or electives in their area of expertise.
The teaching load is typically six courses per academic year. Additional responsibilities include departmental planning and programming, engaging with our campus community, and maintaining a research agenda commensurate with a teaching-focused institution. The department provides a supportive and collegial environment for faculty development and professional success.
The Business Administration Department is a well-established and dynamic program focusing on effective undergraduate teaching within a strong liberal arts setting. Student demand for business coursework is robust; the majors offered by the business department are the most highly subscribed on campus. The department houses two majors: Business and International Business. Each major includes options for a concentration: Marketing, Management, Finance, and Business Intelligence. The department also oversees two minor programs in Entrepreneurial Studies and Nonprofit Leadership Development. As nearly 90 percent of majors complete an internship, we welcome candidates with a desire to develop relationships with the business community.
Requirements:
A terminal degree in a related field is strongly preferred; candidates enrolled in but who have not yet completed a terminal degree in a related field will also be considered. We value, but do not require, professional experience in marketing. Applicants with a master’s degree in a related field and distinguished professional experience may be considered for a non-tenure track position.
